Equipment List
To efficiently manufacture molded PTFE rod/tube stock shapes, PFI has over 1,000 custom mold sizes in our facility. All of our molds are polished, ground and nickel plated, and feature non-metallic end rings that protect the mold surface from potential damage, as well as prevent contamination of the specific resin being molded.
Over the years, PFI has procured and developed an extensive array of modern and efficient equipment to handle all aspects of the design, fabrication, production and inspection of the custom plastic components we manufacture. This equipment includes:
- Eight Haas CNC Milling Centers – one 5-axis horizontal unit, five 4-axis units, two-3 axis units
- Eleven CNC Lathes – including Daewoo, Mori Seiki, Haas, and Kia
- Two Standard Milling Machines – Bridgeport Series, Webb
- Four Standard Lathes – including LeBlond, and Supermax units
- Seven Curing Ovens – including Grieve Ovens, Precision Quincy Oven
- Molding Presses and Equipment – USM Cutting machine, eleven molding presses, ranging from a 42-ton to a 380-ton hydraulic press, two diaphragm presses, one Hydramet Automatic Molding Press, molds for the production of tubes and rods
- Inspection Equipment – Gage 2000 Brown and Sharpe CMM w/PCDMIS Software, MTI Optical Comparator, another Optical Comparator, and all standard inspection tools
- Material Handling Equipment, other miscellaneous tools and equipment
